While I'm not happy about not having a nice spin on canister filter, I'm getting used to this multi step process on my 2019 Tundra. Without this gear you will not only have a mess, but you could break something. Follow instructions (you tube) and it's a clean cinch to change oil and filter. If Toyota goes back to a spin on I won't complain. These are good quality tools to get the job done right., you won't regret it.
